Bright and clear with pale straw hues. Aromas of stone fruit and white flowers. A classic Watervale palate of lemon and lime with crunchy acid throughout and bath salts on the finish. The flavours refresh and linger on the palate with perfect balance of fruit and acid.
Quince and Granny Smith apples with a hint of green steaminess. The flavour is fresh and bright, crisp apple, some pineapple juice, a little orange pith, great acidity and subtle oak and nuttiness contributing to a slight buttery pastry vibe that evokes an apple Danish, and rose petal florals — textural with full bodied generosity.
Mitchell Sevenhill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic. It shows strong primary fruit on the nose, with overtones of dusty new French oak aromas. The palate is full flavoured with cassis and blackcurrant, a dry mouth feel with firm tannins through to the finish. The essential ingredients - fruit, oak, acidity and tannins - are present in the right proportions. The result is an elegant wine of great power.
Another classic Peppertree Shiraz. A wine of power and elegance with aromas of plum and dark chocolate. Beautifully balanced primary fruit, acid and tannins, leading to a smooth dry finish.
Bright ruby in the glass with a fine bead on the tongue that shows lifts of youthful sour cherry flavours with earthly undertones leading in to a lingering plummy finish.

This Riesling has deepened in colour and has a beautiful green gold glow. The palate has developed enormous depth and complexity. The length and balance of the wine speaks to the quality of fruit and winemaking.
The 2009 McNicol Shiraz is a bright and youthful while showing a hint of secondary characters of a 12 year old wine. Leather and mulled fruit lift out of the glass with a hint of baked chocolate. The palate is layered with blue and red berries over the secondary spicy earthiness. Beautifully balanced mouth feel and soft tannin.
A beautifully balanced Riesling. Classic flavours of lemon and lime are apparent immediately. With a long lingering finish. Chalky, clean and crunchy acid, with just a hint of sweetness that complements the citrus flavours
We are wine enthusiasts, innovators and connoisseurs, dedicated to the art of winemaking.
We are committed to implementing sustainable practices at every opportunity to ensure we continue growing and crafting Mitchell wines from the Clare Valley and surrounding regions for generations to come.
Our dry-grown vineyards ensure responsible water conservation while the removal of all artificial herbicides and pesticides ten years ago has encouraged biodiversity across the board. This resulted in rich soils and vineyards full of life.
We are dedicated to preserving the natural characteristics of the fruit produced from these vines, promoting the rich flavours and a vibrant energy that is present throughout the entire Mitchell Wines portfolio.
Our dedication to our vineyards and implementing sustainable winemaking practices is what has put us on the map for our exclusive range of high-quality table wines. Our red wines are intensely flavoured, well-structured and long living, while our white wines are fresh, aromatic and delightfully approachable.
Since the beginning, we’ve always believed that to make great wine you need great vineyards. And we’ve worked to implement this at every opportunity; spending years perfecting our methods and approach to amplify the unique characteristics that can only be found in the beautiful region that we call home; Clare Valley.
It was just over 10 years ago that we converted all our farming practices back to those that our grandfather, Peter McNicol Mitchell had originally implemented when he first established the vineyards. This eliminated the use of all artificial herbicides and pesticides, and we haven’t looked back since. Ten years on and we have continued to employ sustainable practices at every opportunity. This has resulted in rich soils and vineyards that are full of life, harvesting powerful flavours and a vibrant energy that is present in all our wines.
We have four key vineyards in Clare Valley that range in altitude from 300 to 450 metres; the Sevenhill Vineyard, Alcatraz Vineyard, Auburn Vineyard and Growers Vineyard.
