Almost three decades on, Head Winemaker, Gwyn Olsen is making consistently great wines, drawing on these vineyards situated in the Hunter and Orange in NSW to prized patches of soil in Coonawarra and Wrattonbully in South Australia. An expressive blend combining passionfruit and gooseberry fruit notes of Orange Sauvignon Blanc with the crisp lemonade and lime cordial of Hunter Valley Semillon. The palate is vibrant and lively with subtle nettle and lemon flavour. Well balanced acidity with a crisp, dry finish.
Big bold flavours of cassis and blackberry integrated with spicy oak. A full rich palate packed with sweet ripe berry fruits balanced by French oak. Chalky fine tannins provide excellent structure and depth to the long and generous palate that will live for many years. This single vineyard wine is a full bodied Cabernet of distinction that can be enjoyed now or will benefit from further cellaring.

The Verdelho shows lifted tropical fruits with hints of musk, spice and guava florals. An intense cool climate Chardonnay with flavours of stone fruits, fig and melon seductively integrated with barrel ferment complexity. A crisp and elegant style of Chardonnay, showing great purity of fruit.
Like bees to nectar, Australia has taken to growing and making Fiano with great enthusiasm, and this wine has been made to showcase why. Orange blossom, fresh pesto and honeysuckle aromas entice the drinker to taste a savoury and rich wine filled with notes of pear, hazelnut and a touch of orange. Fermented on skins to create layers of texture and spice giving a rich and waxy feel to the mid palate. A versatile wine suited to light meat and rich fish dishes. Like ink spilt from a dripping fountain pen, this variety makes its mark as soon as it is poured from the bottle. Dark and inky with a vibrant aroma of dark blue fruits and a light frame of violets opens the nose before the palate reveals itself with a core of dark black fruits and red plums. Layers of schist and graphite like tannins support the weight of fruit with a bright acidity providing a refreshing finish. This wine suits itself well to pork sausages and hard cheese.
Sticky Pig is a dessert wine style made from Pinot Gris grapes grown on our Wrattonbully vineyard.This unique wine has intense sweetness and balanced acidity. Pears and green apples fill the nose, rich nectar surrounds the palate while maintaining a delicate and seductive finish.
Venator - the Latin word for HUNTER. Rich stone fruit characters of peach and nectarine on the nose complemented by a hint of nutmeg and clove spice. The palate is long and tight filled with melon and stone fruit notes finishing with a crunchy, nectarine-like acidity. A balanced used ofFrench oak provides mid palate structure and complexity. Our Pinot Noir from Orange is showcasing some exceptional fruit qualities and regional characteristics true to this style. The elegant cool climate Pinot Noir displays a nose of forest floor and dark cherry notes, balanced by a complex palate with subtle hints of raspberries and delicate tannins lingering into the finish.

A wine of its own ancestry and heritage, Barbera has continued to move from an every day drinking wine into a more cult status and we are excited by what we see off our Wrattonbully vineyard. A bright wine that opens with cherry blossom and dried herb notes enticing you down the garden path into a palate of dark cherry and forest floor earth, where you can taste the sun dried herb notes and hints of pepper. This wine is lively and refreshing, drinking exceptionally well now.
The Orange vineyard is situated on the volcanics slopes of Mt Canobolas in the Orange region. Grown at an altitude of 800 metres, this Riesling is a dry aromatic style with a perfumed nose of orange blossom and ginger spice lead into a palate framed with citrus zest and a long refined finish. Enjoy in its fragrance now or cellar for further complexity.
Produced from Bernard 76 clone Chardonnay vines on our Wrattonbully vineyard, the 2022 vintage produced very small crops leading to concentrated flavours and excellent acid balance. Careful handling with a judicious use of oak and lees stirring has crafted a well structured and complex Chardonnay with a generous creamy palate.
Our Coquun is the result of blending our best barrels of Shiraz from our vineyards in the Hunter Valley. A true Hunter Shiraz that represents what the region is capable of. Unashamedly medium bodied, offering vibrancy of fruit with complex spice. Balanced by fine tannins and subtle oak handling. A wine of great length and longevity.
