The Domaine Prieure Roch was established by one of Burgundy’s most notable names, Mr Henri Roch who was also Co – director and owner of Domaine de la Romanee- Conti. With a holding of 14 hectares in some of Burgundy’s most famous plots including Grand Cru Clos de Beze & Clos Vougeot and two monopole plots including the Premier Cru Clos de Corvee in Nuit St Georges, the estate is blessed with some of the regions finest terroirs. Prieure Roch has been farming with organic viticulture since its inception and in the winery all yeasts are natural with 100% whole bunch fermentation for all the red wines & there is no fining or filtering. These choices give what Yannick Champ feels are the purest expression of the terroir without any manipulation and lets the wine speak in its true voice.
Prieure Roch has been farming with organic viticulture since its inception and produces extremely low yields in all its plots to craft wines of unique aromatic intensity and distinctive expressions of the terroir. In the winery they employ natural yeasts for all wines & 100% whole cluster fermentation with traditional punching down & remontage by gravity. There is no fining or filtering & sulphur is only used in homeopathic doses at bottling.
